I can’t help but see nothing but win in this picture.
Seems like this song is appropriate in light on what some people have done/said about me in the past couple of weeks.

I love this poster.
Quite possibly the coolest new “sport” I’ve ever seen.
Half-Life 2 is my favorite computer game of all time. I’ve played it on the PC, original Xbox, and the Xbox 360 as part of The Orange Box. I’m currently in the middle of playing it again on the PC, and this time I’ve had chance to really think about what is going on in the Half-Life universe.
The Combine is a species of inter-dimensional beings who use genetic modifications and telekinesis to dominate sapient beings across the multi-verse. They have evolved to a point where they barely use their physical bodies and thus appear as giant space slugs. The Combine controls a massive army made up of native “volunteers” and bio-organically grown combat vehicles. When they invaded Earth prior to the events of Half-Life 2, it took them only 7 hours to conquer the entire planet. Years later they ruled with an iron fist, suppressing humans ability to procreate and subjugating them to complete genetic enslavement. Earth seems to be at its lowest point when the G-Man “inserts” Gordon Freeman into City 17.
There is a point late in the game where Dr. Breen, the Combine’s puppet ruler on Earth, sends out a repeating recorded message over the airwaves. It’s typical propaganda, the same kind you see at the beginning of the game in the train station, but this time Breen is more on the defensive than ever. He seems to have taken offense to being called a collaborator and wants to redefine what the term means. If humanity is to evolve into something that can live in the greater cosmos, he argues, it must collaborate with higher species. Not doing so would result it stagnation or, worse, backwards regression as the mutil-verse passes us by. The fact that the Combine has no intention of letting humanity stay human is not lost on the player, but when all is said and done how will humanity rebuild and prosper? Does Breen have a point and we really do need to go along to get along, even if it’s with the Vortigaunts? Or will humanity become the aggressor, preemptively striking and what it perceives to be a Combine-like threat? What is humanity’s place in the Half-Life universe?
